A New Look for a New Season

Spring is coming so I decided it was time for the blog to recieve face lift! (I have always enjoyed redecorating and rearranging and doing so on the blog is much cheaper than doing it to our house!) Along with the face lift a few new features have been added including a section for our loyal followers. Scott and I are always wondering who is out there so if you visit us frequently please sign up to be a Lawrance Family blog follower!

Future Card Shark!

Just like last year, the whole family (Grandma and Grandpa Lawrance and Uncle Ken, included) went to the last Butler basketball of the regular season. Also just like last year, we played cards with Uncle Ken and Aunt Kristy afterward. Below are pictures from last March and this weekend!

If at first you don't succeed....

Helper Ethan

Yesterday Ethan decided to help mom with the groceries! First he unloaded the bag, then he reloaded the bag. He is such a good helper!

Ethan and I got a chance to visit with Rachel when she was home from D.C. a few weeks ago. We all had a good time and Ethan especially enjoyed the new tent she gave him for Christmas! We have played with it several times since and our kitties enjoy it, too. Thanks, Rachel!

Yummy crackers!

"I know mom told me this is a graham cracker, but is it really?"

"Only one way to know for sure...."

"It looked like a graham cracker, it tastes like a graham cracker..."

"It is a graham cracker! Now quick! Shove the whole thing in my
mouth before mom can stop me! Yummy!"

Ethan and Raja

After watching me play with the cats with a string, Ethan decided he wanted to give it a try, too. However, Raja didn't know how well she liked the whole situation. It became a game of "chase the kitty" but that didn't discourage Ethan!

Snow Baby

Today was Ethan's first experience with snow. We went outside for about 5 minutes while Scott was working on shoveling the driveway. He enjoyed it until mom had to run inside to grab something and then he was finished!

We measured a little over 10 inches of snow. Scott was not too happy when he went out to shovel the drive and found the plow that cleaned the street blocked about a thrid of our drive with a mountain of snow!

Bed Head

Here is Ethan's bed head...or as we like to call it, his "Blagojevich 'do!"

Walking!

A walking video was requested and here it is! (Sorry it took so long!) Ethan is walking like a pro now. He still relies on crawling when he wants to get somewhere quickly (like when he is trying to beat mom to something or somewhere) but most of the time he is on his feet. This is a video I took of him tonight walking and loving on his stuffed lion. The lions name right now is "roar," because that is what a lion says! If you ask Ethan to find roar, he knows exactly who you are talking about!

Heads of the Table

The head of the table at dinner last night was shared by Ethan and his cousin Theo! They shared food, attempted to steal eachother's food, and even enjoyed a hug! How cute are they!?!

Happy Holidays!

Here are a few highlights from our busy Christmas tour of 2008!

All worn out after the Pearl Christmas party in New Albany.

Opening gifts from Santa at home!

Four generation of Lawrances!

Ethans newest cousin on the Lawrance side....Lewis Mandel.

Ready to open gifts at Grandma and Grandpa Pearl's house!
Left to right: Megan, Ethan, Scott, Brandon, Logan, Ryan, Amanda

Ethan had more fun watching his cousin Logan open his gifts than he had opening his own!

An armed nap! Scott fell asleep with his Nerf bow and arrow to protect himself from the little boys running around with Nerf guns!

Say Cheese!

Ethan's "cheesey" face....

All grown up!

Ethan had his one year check-up a couple weeks ago. He weighed in at a heafty 21 pounds and 4 ounces and he is 27 3/4 inches long. He is now in the 25th percentile for weight and about the 5th for his length. Still, he has come a long way from when he wasn't even on the charts one year ago! Remember this pic of our little guy lying on the couch? He weighed less than 5 pounds at the time and wasn't much bigger than the remote!

Here is our big boy these days! He won't hold still long enough for us to take a picture of him lying on the couch and as you can see (barely in his right hand) he loves to play with the remote! This picture was taken after we got home from the doctor. They pricked his finger to check his iron levels and then wrapped his hand up like a little boxer to keep it from bleeding everywhere. He didn't like the prick one bit, but after we were home he couldn't have cared less about the bandage!

Spit Wash!

I guess my tupperware is not clean enough. Ethan decided some items need a spit wash!

New Pictures

New pictures are posted under the photos link! They are in the November and December albums. Enjoy!

He found the cabinet!

Ethan's now found the cabinet where we keep all the plastic containers and boy did he love playing with them!

Boy's Day Out

Today Megan and Kristy had a girl's day so Ethan, Uncle Ken, and I all went to the Butler basketball game this afternoon. Everyone loved Ethan in his Butler hat. He did great overall but it took the first half for him to warm up to his surroundings. We sat with my Uncle Mark and cousin Joe for another Butler victory...we beat IUSB 87-32.

After the game, we were able to go out onto the floor (as is tradition for all the little kids at Hinkle) and play a little...

Ethan even got in his first steps on the basketball floor...Hopefully with any luck we'll be watching him play there someday as a Butler Bulldog!

Newest Bedtime Trick!

We found Ethan the other morning standing in his crib and jumping up and down. Just a few steps away from his dad's infamous record.
